Campground Manager

This is a year-round, full-time position. The major areas of responsibilities include creating and managing the annual operating and capital improvements budgets, personnel management, resident relations, sales and marketing, community enhancement, and other campground and vehicle storage duties. The Campground Manager is responsible for WRV Campground, Store & Stay and winter storage operations, including staffing, budgeting and planning, and is the ambassador of the WRVC, Store & Stay and Waterford RV Storage brands.

What you bring to the table:

You have solid management experience in the campground, hotel, self storage or hospitality sectors. You have excellent interpersonal skills and can communicate with people at all levels. You are proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook, or equivalent. You understand the financials of a business and have success in creating and managing budgets. You thrive on change and problem-solving, and love to be challenged.

What you could be doing:

Customer Relations

  • Ensure that all customers are given all the help and advice possible
  • Train the team how to effectively deliver exceptional customer service

Personnel Management

  • Hire, train and supervise employees as required
  • Schedule and monitor shift-coverage based on customer needs

Sales and Marketing

  • Log and convert sales enquiries, manage outstanding accounts, and manage email traffic
  • Identify and implement innovative sales, networking, promotion & marketing solutions
  • Actively manage WRVC’s online presence, including website and social media
  • Create, promote and manage events at the campground, to promote WRV Campground, Store & Stay membership and Waterford RV Storage solutions
  • Account for the presentation of inventory to generate increased tuck shop revenue

Campground Operations and Administration

  • Report on operations: WRV Campground, Store & Stay and Waterford RV Storage
  • Coordinate Store & Stay services e.g. setting up RVs on site & returning RVs to storage
  • Manage campground security

Financial Management

  • Work with owners and CFO to prepare the annual budget
  • Work with the CFO to ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded
  • Ensure reports provided to management are timely, accurate and exceed targets
  • Procure goods and services according to WRV Campground protocols 

Health and Safety

  • Ensure all WRV Campground, Store & Stay and Waterford RV Storage activities are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner
  • Ensure that all campground facilities are maintained in safe condition

Seasonal working

  • Flexitime: bank hours during the summer, spend those hours during the winter i.e. shorter hours and weeks off, but still paid on a full time basis
  • Days spent at other campgrounds during the winter will count as working days
  • Manage Waterford RV Storage, including Store & Stay members
  • Planning for the following season, including the recruitment of seasonal employees
  • Marketing, networking and promoting Waterford River Valley Campground
